Then we checked out byodo in temple. They had this cemetary all japanese and j yelled it was jap mafia. Doubt it, but funny. Stopped at zippys for local fast food. It was just ok too. Then we went to Kailua beach and kayaked. Well I barely did. I just jumped in the waves for 2 hrs. Now back in waikiki. Time to get ready for Annie and Linn's rehearsal dinner. We lucked out cause it's at tiki bar and grill right in our hotel!

Congratulations to Miriam and Jun Kim!
On July 11, 2009 Miriam and Jun were wed! CONGRATULATIONS! It was so beautiful! I shed yet another tear during the parents hugging part. I would like to share many beautiful moments at their wedding and reception, but I have ZERO pictures. I am very very disappointed in this! But the main thing is that I was there as a witness and it was amazing. So happy for you two! They are honeymooning on Bora Bora as we speak.
Here are the only two pictures I am in!
Taken from Lisette (hehe thanks).

Makes me realize how much the world revolves around fads. Fads make the world go round. Disheartening.
My life is one long vacation
Hawaii
San Francisco
Arizona
That is my weekend schedule for the rest of summer. I just come to work to receive my paycheck to pay for my vacationing lifestyle.
How I love you California. One long vacationing life.
What would you do if you were attacked by a Giant Squid?
I am going to San Diego this weekend. I am all packed and ready to head off after work. As soon as I walk in this morning my coworker goes 'hey aren't you going to SD today?' and I say YES. His reply was "there are giant squid attackings in SD. They are attacking scuba divers." HAHAHA. I think it is funny. Until someone gets hurt obviously. My reply in return was "well if I get attacked by one, I'll just eat it." I don't think he thought it was funny. He probably doesn't like squid the way I do.
This reminds me of one lazy weekend day when I was watching discovery or national geographic. One of those 'educational' channels. They had a documentary on a colossal squid that was caught in the antarctic. You can read an article on it here: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2008/04/photogalleries/colossalsquid-pictures/.
When they caught it I think the squid was dead. They brought it to some place in the UK? Or Australia? I can't remember. But people with funny british accents were on the show. They researched it and then soaked it in some preservation liquids and now it is in a museum. This thing was giant. Bigger than a person. Usually I would think that kind of stuff is disgusting and don't understand why these people want to poke and prod at things like that. But for some reason during this show all I wanted to do was EAT THE DARN THING! I sat there thinking of boiling it, cutting it up and dipping it in gochujang (spicy red pepper paste). And I kept thinking of how many hungry people that one squid could feed in Africa. But instead, they put it in a museum. They really must not like to eat squid. YUM!

Tribute to Michael Jackson
So last night was a tribute to MJ at chapman Norehbang. Even though I haven't been following all the news coverage or had any emotions about MJs death, singing his songs did bring back a lot of childhood memories.

My aunt taught me to make mint tea by just throwing in 2 fresh mint leaves in hot water. It never occured to me to use fresh leaves...DUH.
My other aunt's doggie. SPOILED!
Very modernized korean salon! You can play on the internet while you are heating up your hair.

All the yummy looking cupcakes.
Clinton street bakery was on Bobby Flay's throwdown for the best pancakes in town. Bobby Flay won. Never saw the episode. Look at the line! and we got there BEFORE they opened!
Cheesy grits and fried green tomatoes were awesome! Ham was dry. I got pouched eggs but they were runny. not good. The biscuit is delicious. the strawberry jam (not pictured) is incredible!

Ever seen Annie came I have become super lazy. She cleans all the time and always has dinner ready when I get home! What a good life! The thing is, I love cooking. So yesterday I finally wanted to cook something. I was in the mood for soba noodles, so I went for a 'my style of japanese' meal.
Here are some yummy soba noodles. I didn't really cook it per se. I boiled the noodles for 6 minutes. Mixed the dipping sauce with 1 part sauce and 3 part cold water. And sprinkled some seaweed. bingo bango presto! Soba noodles!
I wanted to have protein with the noodles and all I could think of was the tilapia in the freezer. I bought some spices that Kat talked me into at Shecky's. So I just rubbed a key west citrus spice on the fish, put some lemons on top and baked it at 350 for 20 minutes. (By the end of my workday I didn't want to eat the fish anymore, but I asked Annie to take it out of the freezer so I had to make it. haha)
This is one of my all time favorite foods! Abo Ebi! Avacado, shrimp, mayo, a touch of wasabi, and tomago. Mix it all together and it is fabulous! I put a little too much mayo in it though. Still delicious. Take leftovers and put it on toast. YUM! How do you like my plating? I've been watching too much food network star and top chef masters.
My mom's is better, but this is my third try at making agadashi tofu. Cut up tofu, drain out the water. Roll it in corn startch. Fry it. Add some green onions on top. Use tempura or soba sauce as the dip. Basically ponzu sauce.
L and A liked my dinner so I'm happy. I'm eating leftovers for lunch. Tonight I am in the mood for omoorice.
